As a favour to a friend I’m now making pillow cases. I have to admit they are easy and there is a type of peace that comes with sewing a lot of simple projects repeatively. It’s not something I’d do long term, but for 2 days I can manage. I’m about half way done and have 20 done. They are a fund raiser for my friend’s little girl to go on a a trip to Hawaii with her team – I hope it works out for them.

On the other hand, Saturday night I finished the CUTEST dress! I just love this little thing. I had hoped for my baby girl to wear it on Sunday  morning, but wouldn’t you know- it got too cold on us. So, she’ll wear it later this week.

I used to be able to get things done so much faster. It’s just very hard with a 15 month old running all around. She LOVES to get into my bobbins and elastics and empty the drawers. The sewing machine is like “call of the baby” – she hears it and comes running … Mama is sewing – the light is one -the good stuff is accessable!  Of course I can’t close the door, so I just let her empty the bottom drawers and hope she’ll be happy.

But, life in general has been busy. We are finally all well, but it seems that it is often hard to find time for quality sewing. I’m still working my 2 part time nursing jobs – not a lot of hours as that sounds like, but enough to cut into my “free” time LOL!

We’re making valentines here right now – Glitter and glue everywhere! but fun too. My girlie loves these types of crafts and is in craft heaven with me letting her do as she will with the glue and glitter.

Well, I’m still a little sick and my girlie is still quite sick, but she was ill enough to sleep most of the day. It seems she’s slept most of it off.

By my computer sits this… I finally figured out how to cast off the correct way for the wool longies I’m making so I finally have some empty knitting needles again. Of course, being mama, a toy is near by. Now I just need to finish stitching up the leg, knit the other leg, and then put together.

What else did I accomplish today — well, I was stuck at home so no running about town. I recently (well maybe 2 months ago) bought this super soft organic natural bamboo velour! Wow! This stuff is so soft and lovely!!! It was just yelling for baby clothing. I have a patient at the hospital who really needs clothing and the family prefers natural fibers, so I first made her some simple pants and then some more for my [link=http://bugzNbean.com]my store[/link]

We’ve had a bad case of the sickies here … first my boy, then my girl and the baby, then me, … now back to my middle girl.

I’m finishing up some wool leggies (knitting) right now- hopefully I’ll get some pictures going soon.

Well, it’s a new year and it’s already 10 am… I’m in my jammies and online with a cup of coffee by me…

(as my husband walks by and tells me that he just took $.14 out of the baby’s mouth)

Things to do today:

  • Put away Christmas orniments and decorations – then take down the tree.
  • put away all the gifts
  • write a few thank you notes
  • figure how the where and when for my boy’s birthday party and then get invites together to work on later

Then I have to work on sewing stuff! I have a custom order to finish up and a dress for me I’m working on. I just realized that my poor baby girl has almost no clothing due to a growth spurt so I need to get sewing for her too.

Then I need to take a nap before going to work tonight! I have feeling not everything will get done.

Well, I’ve decided to start a new blog – seperate from the family one – just to chat about my crafting addiction.

more to come – once I figure out this new site.
